Entertaiment – The act of providing amusement or enjoyment. Entertainment includes such activities as watching movies and television, listening to music, playing sports or games, and creating visual art. It also encompasses such experiences as attending live theatre, dance performances and comedy shows and reading books or poetry. The word “entertainment” is derived from the Middle English term inter tenere, from the Latin prefix inter meaning “inside,” and tenere, an Indo-European root that means to hold or stretch.
Interestingly, most forms of entertainment hit on the points that the human brain was evolved to react deeply to, such as social backstabbing or murders.
